Photographing Martin Garrix at Made in America Festival last year I man comes up next to me in the pit. Rapping and singing the songs Garrix is mixing. He begins to throw stacks of $2 bills in towards the crowd. It makes me laugh and take a picture. He sees me and hands me one for luck. I have no idea who he was but ever since that night, I have kept it on my desk beside me.
A couple nights ago I noticed an Instagram post by David Benjamin De Cristofaro about receiving a $2 dollar bill from Steven Reisman for good luck while he was at Coachella. "Steven Reisman gave me a $2 bill for good luck. It seems to have worked for Jay Z & Drake so fingers-crossed & hopes high 🙂 haha #StevenReisman." So I looked Steven Reisman up and seen pictures of the same man I received the $2 bill from. Well, he is seen at many festivals and concerts and been around many hip-hop Grammy winners. Jay-Z, Beyonce, Macklamore, Drake, 2 Chainz and the list goes on. Anything you can find on him talks about how he is a great guy and is seen giving out stacks of $2 bills for luck.
Maybe this $2 bill will bring me luck and hopefully one day I can pay it forward while still enjoying life like Steven Reisman.
